6 Simple Ways To Bust Bloating & Dominate Digestion

Bloating and digestion difficulties – two things people rarely talk about (understandably so), but almost everyone experiences. I never really realized these complications until after we eliminated dairy and grains from our diet for a super long time and then I tried to eat some pizza. That didn’t go so well. It tasted great going down, but not long after my stomach was aching and I was very…gaseous. (#embarassing)

Bummer! I love pizza! Why did that happen? Turns out, dairy and grains are highly inflammatory. I’ve felt uncomfortable after eating in years past, but I never really paid attention to what foods caused it. Now it was worse, and I had to do something about it. My choices were 1) never eat certain food groups again, or 2) figure out a way to help the digestion process.

Drinking water is great, but luke warm water is actually better on the digestive system. “When drinking cold drinks, you dilute the digestive enzymes your body needs for the digestion of proteins, carbohydrates, and fats.” Also, try to keep most of you water consumption between meals, rather than during meal time.

2 – Supplement With a Digestive Enzyme

5 – Chew Your Food WELL

Last week we were on vacation to beautiful Colorado. We arrived at the truck after a 4 hour hike and I was starving! We were trying to find some food, and the first one that popped up was called, “Snarfs.” To which my husband replied, “That sounds like your style.” HAH! Apparently I can work on this.  I think being a mom requires fast eating, but taking the time to chew your food really helps with digestion because it’s breaking down your food that much more.
